Podium places for German team in Titisee-Neustadt

Titisee-Neustadt in the Black Forest hosted the third World Cup weekend of the 2022/23 season. The DSV eagles could celebrate two podium finishes.

Friday - Individual Jumping

Anže Lanišek from Slovenia secured victory in the individual competition on Friday ahead of Dawid Kubacki from Poland. Karl Geiger took the first podium of the season for the DSV team with third place.

The other jumpers of the DSV also showed appealing performances. Constantin Schmid came in seventh, Stephan Leyhe 15th. Markus Eisenbichler and Pius Paschke just missed the top 20 in 21st and 22nd place. Andreas Wellinger did not make it into the second round.

Saturday - Mixed Team Competition

Together with the women, the first mixed team event of the season took place on Saturday. The competition was dominated by the Austrian quartet consisting of Sara Marita Kramer, Michael Hayböck, Eva Pinkelnig and Stefan Kraft, which took the victory with a margin of 26.7 points. The Norwegian team with Anna Odine Strøm, Bendik Jakobsen Heggli, Silje Opseth and Halvor Egner Granerud finished second. The DSV team with Selina Freitag, Constantin Schmid, Katharina Althaus and Karl Geiger secured third place with a strong team performance.

Sunday - Individual Jumping

The dominator of the season so far showed his skills again on Sunday. Dawid Kubacki from Poland outclassed his competitors and won with 25.7 points ahead of Slovenia's Anže Lanišek. Stefan Kraft from Austria came in third.

The German team result was also impressive on Sunday. Karl Geiger jumped into fifth place, only just missing the podium. Markus Eisenbichler was ninth, Pius Paschke 13th and Stephan Leyhe placed 15th again. Only Constantin Schmid in 21st and Andreas Wellinger in 27th were not in the top 20.
