Successful first World Championship weekend
Saturday - Individual Jumping
The Nordic World Ski Championships in Planica are open - and that, very successfully for the DSV. On the normal hill Andreas Wellinger and Karl Geiger took silver and bronze on Saturday. Only Piotr Żyła from Poland, who started an outstanding catch-up in the second round, from 13th to 1st place, was able to surpass the two Germans.
Sunday - Mixed Team Jumping
On Sunday the mixed team competition took place. Selina Freitag, Karl Geiger, Katharina Althaus and Andreas Wellinger achieved 1017.2 points and thus the fifth World Cup title in a row in mixed team. Silver went to Norway (Anna Odine Stroem, Johann Andre Forfang, Thea Minyan Bjoerseth and Halvor Egner Granerud) with 1004.5 points, beating Slovenia (Nika Kriznar, Timi Zajc, Ema Klinec and Anze Lanisek) with 1000.4 points.
