Historical win for Polish ski jumpers

Domen Prevc wins individual competition and is now leading the World Cup standings

After surprising results in Kuusamo one week ago, Klingenthal hosted two more competitions of the Ski jumping World Cup 2016-17.

The polish athletes Maciej Kot, Piotr Zyla, Dawid Kubacki and Kamil Stoch succeeded in achieving the first ever victory in a team competition for their country by gaining 1,128.7 points. The German team with Markus Eisenbichler, Andreas Wellinger, Richard Freitag and Severin Freund and the Austrian team with Michael Hayböck, Stefan Kraft, Andreas Kofler and Manuel Fettner completed the podium, followed by Slovenia on fourth and Norway on fifth rank.

Domen Prevc won his second competition on Saturday after being successful in Finland. With jumps on 140 and 141 metres, the 17 years old Slovenian managed to finish in front of Daniel Andre Tande (NOR) and Stefan Kraft from Austria.
Considering the German results only Markus Eisenbichler convinced finishing on 6th. Besides Karl Geiger on 14th, Severin Freund could not repeat his strong results of the World Cup opening and ended on the 11th position. Richard Freitag finished on the 15th position and also missed out a Top 10 result.
