David Siegel: "The hill has something special that makes me like it very much"

David Siegel speaking about his aims for the upcoming season, the atmosphere at the German team and the hill at Garmisch-Partenkirchen.

After his unexpected win at the German Championships this year, David Siegel is on everyone’s lips. The feeling of winning the German title is "indiscribable and very suprising" even though he knew that he "achieved progress during summer". "I don’t have expectations but aims", declares Siegel. "One big aim is to be a regular feature of the World Cup team."  He explains that the German team is strong and the atmosphere inside of the team is superb: "We will do everything to achieve a German win at the New Years Ski Jumping at the 4 Hills Tournament". The Ski jumping hill in Garmisch-Partenkirchen is something very special for Siegel as he could accumulate his first points at the World Cup this year on the Olympiaschanze. "The hill has something special that makes me like it very much". But not only ski jumping is important for him. He successfully completed his formation at the federal police force this summer and is happy about his treatment there: "They support me from the sporting but also from the carreer perspective in the best way they can". To combine the sports with his job is very important for Siegel as he needs "to have a different topic to deal with apart from ski jumping".
