Eisenbichler just behind Kobayashi at New Year's ski jumping
Markus Eisenbichler missed the victory at the New Year's ski jumping event in Garmisch-Partenkirchen by a narrow margin. In the end the DSV athlete was only 0.2 points behind the day's winner Ryoyu Kobayashi. The Japanese celebrated his second victory in the current Four-Hills-Tournament thanks to his jumps on 143 and 135.5 meters (291.2 points). The Slovenian Lovro Kos finished third with 286 points. Karl Geiger didn't get beyond 7th place and had to hand over the yellow jersey of the overall leader to tour favorite Kobayashi.
