Germany wins team competition
Zakopane is known for its extraordinary atmosphere and proved that again this weekend. A whole 25,000 people cheered on the ski jumpers in the „Polish Witch's Cauldron";. This has probably had an effect especially on Kamil Stoch. The Pole secured the day's victory on Sunday by jumping 137. 5 m and 140 m. Second place goes to the Austrian Stefan Kraft, who also shows a good performance with jumps on 136 m and 138 m. The actual favourite of the individual jumping ended up in third place. With 140 m and 133 m Kubacki still made it to the podium. The best Germans in the individual competition were Stephan Leyhe, who narrowly missed the podium with 4th place, and Karl Geiger, who finished 5th. Place has collected enough points to defend his overall World Cup lead.
The day before, Constantin Schmid, Stephan Leyhe, Markus Eisenbichler and Karl Geiger won the team competition. 1182. 2 points after 8 jumps. Even the Norwegian team, consisting of Daniel Andre Tande, Johann Andre Forfang, Marius Lindvik and Robert Johansson, could not keep up with this. Third place went to Slovenia with 1125. 0 points.
