Gold for Kobayashi - DSV disappointing

Ryoyu Kobayashi wins gold in the first Olympic competition from normal hill ahead of Manuel Fettner and Dawid Kubacki. Best DSV athlete finishes in 11th place.

Individual competition - Normal Hill

The 2022 Beijing Olympics opened in ski jumping from the normal hill. On the Ufo-like ski jumping hill in Zhangjiakou, Four Hills Tour overall winner Ryoyu Kobayashi did best and secured the gold medal. Silver went to Austria's Manuel Fettner and bronze to Dawid Kubacki from Poland. Best German was Constantin Schmid in 11th place. Karl Geiger, who had arrived in the yellow jersey, jumped to a disappointing 15th place. All DSV athletes had a hard time on the normal hill.
