Kobayashi wins first sation of Four Hills Tournament

Like last year, Ryoyu Kobayashi starts with an opening victory in the Four Hills Tournament. The Japanese won ahead of Karl Geiger from Germany and Dawid Kubacki from Poland.

In front of a sold-out crowd, the ski jumpers again delivered an exciting competition, in which Kobayashi won again. Already at half time the 23-year-old was ahead and kept his position after the second jump. Second place went to Karl Geiger, who thus narrowly missed a victory in front of his home crowd. In general, the result was positive for the DSV eagles. Second best German was Markus Eisenbichler in eleventh place.

Tomorrow the ski jumpers have a rest day on the schedule, before the qualification in Garmisch-Partenkirchen continues on Tuesday.
