Lake Placid: DSV-Mixed-Team takes the win
Friday – Individual competition
In the first World Cup individual event in Lake Placid (USA), no German ski jumper was able to land in the top 10. The German team, competing without the resting Pius Paschke, had Andreas Wellinger as the best performer of the day in 16th place. Philipp Raimund finished 21st, Karl Geiger 24th, and Stephan Leyhe 26th. Felix Hoffmann narrowly missed the second round, finishing in 31st place.
The victory went to the Norwegian Johann Andre Forfang, ahead of Jan Hörl and Daniel Tschofenig from Austria.
Saturday – Mixed-Team
After the individual competition the previous day ended in disappointment for the German men, a fantastic result was achieved in the mixed team event the following day. The German team, consisting of Agnes Reisch, Philipp Raimund, Selina Freitag, and Andreas Wellinger, scored 963.6 points on Saturday evening (local time), securing the World Cup season victory with a 12.8-point lead over the second-place team from Norway (Thea Minyan Bjoerseth, Kristoffer Eriksen Sundal, Eirin Maria Kvandal, and Johann Andre Forfang). The podium was rounded out by the Austrian quartet of Lisa Eder, Jan Hörl, Jacqueline Seifriedsberger, and Daniel Tschofenig (941.8 points).
Sunday – Individual competition
In the individual competition on Sunday, the German men were unable to continue the success from the mixed team event on Saturday. Although the team showed improvement compared to the first individual event in the USA, it wasn’t quite enough to place in the top 10. Andreas Wellinger finished in 11th place and Karl Geiger in 12th. Stephan Leyhe (26th) and Philipp Raimund (28th) also made it into the top 30. Felix Hoffmann, in 32nd place, once again narrowly missed the final round.
In the end, at top was once again the overall World Cup leader Daniel Tschofenig, followed by his Austrian teammate Jan Hörl in second place and Slovenia's Anže Lanišek in third.
