Ski flying in Oberstdorf

Timi Zajc and Stefan Kraft were the clear winners at the Ski Flying in Oberstdorf. On both days the two secured one victory and one podium place each. With 9th place in both jumps the best DSV eagle Karl Geiger was a bit disappointing.

Saturday - Individual Jumping

After winning the qualification, Austria's Stefan Kraft also triumphed in the opening jump in Oberstdorf. Ziga Jelar was only 1.7 points behind the world record holder. Third place went to Timi Zajc from Slovenia. On the sidelines of the Oberstdorf Ski Flying World Cup, DSV eagle Richard Freitag announced his retirement from competitive sport. We congratulate him on an outstanding career and wish him all the best.

Sunday - Individual Jumping

The second Ski Flying World Cup in Oberstdorf was won by Timi Zajc with 211.5 meters and 232 meters. The Slovenian beat Poland's Piotr Zyla (401.1) with 407.9 points on the Heini Klopfer ski jump on the second day. Third place went to yesterday's winner Stefan Kraft from Austria (399.8 points). Local hero Karl Geiger finished both days as the best German only in 9th place.
