Stefan Kraft wins first competition in Oberstdorf
Stefan Kraft won the opening competition of the Four Hills Tournament in Oberstdorf. Kamil Stoch (POL) and Michael Hayboeck were placed second and third. Kraft will now come to Garmisch-Partenkrichen in the shirt of the Four Hills leader. Already after the first round the three jumpers were in front. The winner of the qualification, Daniel-Andre Tande from Norway, managed to improve from the 9th rank after the first round to the fourth place in the final.
Markus Eisenbichler once again was the best German athlete in the competition. He finished on sixth place, unfortunately lost 2 places in the final round. The rankings of the other German jumpers in the final: 14 Freitag, 15 Wellinger, 17 Leyhe, 20 Wank, 27 Geiger.
There was one real big surprise on competition Day 1, when Domen Prevc, who managed to win four World Cup competitions this season finished only 26th.
