Strong German performances in Lahti

The German team showed strong performances in team jumping (3rd place) as well as in individual jumping (second and third). The Norwegian team and Robert Johansson each secured 1st place.

Saturday - Team competition

Team Norway secured the team success in Lahti, Finland, on Saturday. The quartet around Halvor Egner Granerud, Marius Lindvik, Robert Johansson and Daniel-André Tande didn't show any weaknesses and left the Polish team around 4-hills-winner Kamil Stoch behind. The German team also showed strong jumps and secured 3rd place. Austria just missed the podium in fourth place.

Sunday - Individual competition

The individual jumping ended with a shock moment on Sunday. World Cup leader Halvor Egner Granerud, who was in first place after round 1, jumped to a spectacular 137.5 metres, only half a metre shorter than Johann André Forfang's hill record from 2017. Granerud, unfortunately, was not able to stand the attempt and landed roughly on the snow. Fortunately, the Norwegian remained unhurt. Thus, the joy of his team mate Robert Johansson about his victory was slightly dimmed. The German team was well represented by Markus Eisenbichler (2nd place) and Karl Geiger (3rd place). Pius Paschke was also convincing with 10th place. Granerud finished the jumping in fourth place despite his fall.
