Successful World Cup start for German eagles

Ski flying world champion Karl Geiger jumps to 1st and 2nd place in Nizhny Tagil and thus sovereignly secures the yellow jersey.

Saturday - Individual competition

In the first World Cup Karl Geiger secured the first World Cup victory of the new season in Nizhny Tagil. The podium in the first individual event of the season was completed by Ryoyu Kobayashi and Halvor Egner Granerud. 

Second best German eagle was Markus Eisenbichler with a gap of 32.8 points on a strong sixth place. Further results of the German athletes: Stephan Leyhe (14th); Constantin Schmid (22nd); Pius Paschke (26th); Andreas Wellinger (31st).

Sunday - Individual competition

And also in the second individual competition, Karl Geiger from Oberstdorf proved his great shape. In heavy snowfall he only had to admit defeat to Norway's Halvor Egner Granerud. Austria's Stefan Kraft lined up in third place.
