Two Nights Tour final: Selina Freitag finishes second

At the Two Nights Tour for women ski jumpers, the German team delivered strong performances. Selina Freitag stood out in particular with consistent jumps and finished second in the overall standings. The overall victory went to Slovenia’s Nika Prevc.

Slovenian ski jumper Nika Prevc secured her third overall victory at the Two Nights Tour, finishing ahead of Selina Freitag, who achieved the best result for Germany. Freitag showed strong form on both competition days and stood on the podium in Garmisch-Partenkirchen as well as in the overall ranking.

During the second competition of the tour on New Year’s Day in Oberstdorf, difficult wind conditions challenged the athletes. Prevc struggled in the first round and was only ranked 17th initially. However, she demonstrated her class impressively in the final round. Selina Freitag was also able to benefit from the conditions and improved to a strong third place in the daily standings.

The day victory in the second competition of the women’s tour went to Canadian Abigail Strate, ahead of China’s Ping Zeng. For Strate, it was the first World Cup win of her career.

Other German ski jumpers also impressed. Katharina Schmid finished her final appearance at the Two Nights Tour in Oberstdorf in eleventh place and said an emotional farewell to the hill. It was a special moment for Schmid, competing for the last time in her hometown of Oberstdorf. Although she missed out on a podium finish, she was presented with a bouquet of flowers. Agnes Reisch collected valuable World Cup points with ninth place, while Juliane Seyfarth rounded off the strong German team result in 16th.
