Two times second place for DSV eagles in Zakopane

In the preparation for the Olympic Winter Games, the form curve of the DSV athletes is showing an upward trend again. In Zakopane, Poland, a German podium finish could be celebrated on both competition days.

Saturday - Team jumping


Saturday evening was the third team competition of the current season. The DSV eagles around Severin Freund, Stephan Leyhe, Markus Eisenbichler and Karl Geiger managed to jump into 2nd place thanks to a convincing performance with 1034.7 points. The German team was only beaten by the strong Slovenians (Lovro Kos, Peter Prevc, Timi Zajc, Anze Lanisek; 1107.7 points). Third place went to the Japanese team (1034.1 points) around Four Hills Tour winner Ryoyu Kobayashi.

Sunday - Individual jumping


Also on Sunday the second place went to Germany. Karl Geiger (284,6 p.) from Oberstdorf secured this thanks to his jumps on 134,5 and 135,5 meters, only the Norwegian Marius Lindvik (294,6 p.) jumped better on Sunday evening. Anze Lanisek could also be happy about his second podium this weekend, the Slovenian finished a strong third with 283.7 points. Markus Eisenbichler was tenth as the second best German.
