Geiger wins bronze on the large hill

Marius Lindvik secures gold in a close final on the Olympic large hill.

Individual jumping large hill

In a thrilling final on the large hill, the qualification winner Marius Lindvik from Norway could celebrate his gold medal in the end. With his jumps of 140.5 and 144.8 metres he finished just ahead of the Olympic normal hill champion, Ryoyu Kobayashi. Third place went a little surprisingly to Karl Geiger after he showed a slightly weaker form in the last jumps. Thanks to a strong jump in the second round, the man from Oberstdorf was able to improve from sixth to third place and thus claim the first Olympic medal of his career. The strong German result was rounded off by Markus Eisenbichler (5th) and Constantin Schmid (14th).

To the official result.
