Granerud wins the New Year ski jumping!
Norway's Halvor Egner Granerud also won the second competition of the Four Hills Tournament and is eyeing his first overall victory. At the New Year's ski jumping event in Garmisch-Partenkirchen Granerud jumped to 140 and 142 meters respectively. The Slovenian Anze Lanisek and the overall World Cup leader Dawid Kubacki placed second and third.
The German eagles presented themselves a bit better than in the qualification, but they were not completely satisfied yet. As the best German Andi Wellinger jumped to the 8th place. Karl Geiger finished the New Year's ski jumping in 11th place and Philipp Raimund was happy about 15th place.
