Zajc jumps to gold on the large hill!

This weekend the men's individual jumping from the large hill took place and the eyes of the fans were focused on the local favorite Timi Zajc. The expectations were high and Zajc lived up to them by leaving the competition behind and winning the gold medal. However, the competition was fiercely contested and there were many strong competitors, including Markus Eisenbichler, who finished best German in fifth place.

Saturday - Individual Jumping

Timi Zajc was able to use his home advantage and prove his extraordinary jumping power. With a sovereign performance he won the world championship title and thrilled the spectators on site and in front of the TV screens worldwide. 
The Slovenian impressed the home audience with distances of 137.5 and 137 meters and scored a total of 287.5 points. In a thrilling final he prevailed against Ryoyu Kobayashi from Japan, who reached distances of 135 and 129.5 meters and scored a total of 276.8 points. The bronze medal went to Poland's Dawid Kubacki, who reached distances of 129 and 135 meters, scoring a total of 276.2 points. The event was overall a great event that brought together the best ski jumpers in the world and offered breathtaking performances to the spectators. The best German was Markus Eisenbichler with distances of 131 and 136 meters in 5th place. Karl Geiger also jumped into the top10 with eighth place.
