DSV eagles looking forward to the World Cup start
The wait for fans, ski jumpers and officials is over: The qualification on Friday at 4 pm is the start of the World Cup weekend in Ruka.In addition to cold temperatures, a wintry panorama and a challenging hill, the jumpers can expect a World Cup competition on Saturday and Sunday at 4:15 pm.
The German Ski Association will be competing with a six-man squad: national coach Stefan Horngacher has nominated Karl Geiger, Andreas Wellinger and Philipp Raimund from the World Cup team. Martin Hamann, Stephan Leyhe and Pius Paschke have also qualified.
According to Horngacher, the team "prepared for the start of the season on the ski jump in Klingenthal after the German Championships."
The DSV eagles are looking forward to the event, even though Karl Geiger says they have "a little respect for the temperatures".
Nevertheless, he has "a good feeling, as some jumps have already been made at a high level."
Andreas Wellinger is also "quite positive" and is "really looking forward to Finland".
