Engelberg: Paschke with the first World Cup victory
Saturday - Individual jumping
After Karl Geiger's double victory on the previous World Cup weekend, the third victory in a row also went to a DSV eagle: Pius Paschke confirmed his strong form of recent weeks and impressed with two jumps to 135.0 meters, which gave him the first World Cup victory of his career. At the age of 33, Paschke is the oldest jumper ever to achieve an individual victory in the World Cup. Congratulations!
The podium on Saturday was completed by Norway's Marius Lindvik and Austria's Stefan Kraft. None of the other German jumpers made it into the top 10.
Sunday - Individual jumping
On the second day of the competition, several DSV eagles jumped at the top again. Pius Paschke once again made it onto the podium, beaten only by the two Austrians Jan Hörl and the winner Stefan Kraft.
Karl Geiger and Andreas Wellinger missed out on the podium, but were delighted with fourth and fifth place.
The final rehearsal before the start of the Four Hills Tournament and the New Year's Ski Jumping has therefore been a success for the German jumpers and gives hope for further podium finishes.
The overall World Cup standings are still led by Stefan Kraft (669 points). Directly behind him are the three Germans Andreas Wellinger (447 points), Pius Paschke (443 points) and Karl Geiger (414 points).
