Oslo: Start of the Raw Air

The start of the Raw Air did not go according to plan for the DSV eagles. In contrast, Markus Eisenbichler triumphed again in the Continental Cup in Lahti.

The German team traveled to Oslo with the same athletes as last week. The Raw Air was also on the agenda for the women this weekend. Katharina Schmid was able to celebrate a strong second place on Saturday.

Saturday - Individual jumping

With the exception of Stephan Leyhe, all DSV eagles were able to qualify for the individual competition on Saturday. The difficult wind conditions then made the competition a challenge for the jumpers. Karl Geiger (36th place) and Philipp Raimund (48th place) did not manage to qualify for the second round.
The best German was Pius Paschke in 14th place, while Andreas Wellinger and Constantin Schmid finished in 20th and 28th place respectively. The victory went to Austria's Stefan Kraft.

Sunday - Individual jumping

Karl Geiger once again failed to qualify for the final round of the individual competition on Sunday and finished in 35th place. Andreas Wellinger was still in 18th place after the first round, but was then able to make up ten places and secure a place in the top ten as the best German.
Johann André Forgang won the jumping competition in front of his home crowd.

The other results of the DSV eagles:
Philipp Raimund (16th place)
Constantin Schmid (23rd place)
Pius Paschke (25th place)
Stephan Leyhe (30th place)

Markus Eisenbichler was delighted with two podium finishes in the Continental Cup in Lahti at the weekend. After finishing second in Saturday's jumping competition, he dominated Sunday's competition and secured his second victory of the season.

The Raw Air now moves on to Trondheim, where the German jumpers will be looking to improve their performances again on March 12 and 13.
