Raw Air finish: Kraft and Granerud cheering!

On Saturday Granerud prevailed against his competitors and secured the first place in ski flying in Vikersund. But that was not all: In the final ski flying event of the Raw Air Tour, Austrian ski jumper Stefan Kraft secured victory. But Granerud also had reason to celebrate, because he not only secured the overall victory of the tour, but also the overall World Cup ahead of time.

Saturday - Individual Jumping

Last Saturday the first of two ski flying events took place there, which is part of the Raw Air Tour. Halvor Egner Granerud from Norway impressed with his flights of 235.5 and 222 meters and secured the victory with a total of 424.9 points. Austria's Stefan Kraft landed in second place with jumps of 239.5 and 227.5 meters, which earned him 418.8 points. Third place went to Daniel Tschofenig from Austria, who scored 390.1 points with jumps of 216.5 and 229.5 meters.

The German ski jumpers had little chance of a podium finish in a ski jumping competition. Andreas Wellinger was in third place after the first round, but fell back to twelfth place in the final. Markus Eisenbichler and Karl Geiger had to settle for 15th and 21st place. Although the German ski jumpers were internationally successful in the last years, they were not able to continue their performances in this competition.

Sunday - Individual Jumping

Stefan Kraft claimed victory in the last competition of the Raw Air Tour in ski flying. The Austrian world record holder scored a total of 497.4 points with flights to 246.5 and 235.5 meters. Second place went to Halvor Egner Granerud of Norway with flights to 234 and 219 meters and 489.8 points. Third place went to Slovenia's Anze Lanisek with flights to 231 and 220.5 meters and 468.8 points.

Granerud and Kraft dominated already in the first round. In the end Granerud won with a lead of 18.2 points ahead of Kraft and secured the extra prize money of 50,000 euros in addition to the usual World Cup bonuses.

Unfortunately there was not much success for the German ski jumpers also at the end of the Raw-Air-Tour. Only three of the seven jumpers made it to the final round at all, but in the fight for the podium places the team of national coach Stefan Horngacher had no chance like the day before.
