Summer season started: Roth jumps on the podium in Szczyrk
Courchevel
At the opening event in Courchevel, France, the DSV jumpers just missed a podium finish. On Saturday Gregor Deschwanden secured the day's victory ahead of Vladimir Zografski and Marco Woergoetter. Best German was Pius Paschke on rank six.
On Sunday the podium was also occupied by the same three jumpers. This time Zografski triumphed ahead of Deschwanden, Woergoetter finished third again. For Philipp Raimund it was just not enough for a place on the podium, he finished fourth. Pius Paschke and Constantin Schmid on rank six and seven and Luca Roth on rank nine provided the DSV with four jumpers in the top-10.
Szczyrk
At the second stop of the Summer Grand Prix it was once again Vladimir Zografski who secured the victory on Saturday. The other two podium places went to Poland's Aleksander Zniszczol and Piotr Zyla, who were frenetically cheered by the home crowd. From DSV's point of view it was not the best day with only Stephan Leyhe (10th) and Luca Roth (13th) achieving a ranking among the top-20.
The German jumpers were more successful on Sunday, when three athletes (Roth 3rd, Hamann 10th & Leyhe 13th) were in the top-15 and the first podium was celebrated. In the rain battle, which was finished after one jump, Luca Roth secured third place and the first GP podium of his career. The victory went to local hero Piotr Zyla ahead of the in-form Bulgarian Vladimir Zografski.
