Wisla: Success for DSV duo
The DSV eagles have made a successful start to the PolSKI Tour, which is being held for the first time. The start of three stages took place in Wisla.
Friday - Qualification
The two best Germans Andreas Wellinger (second place) and Stephan Leyhe (sixth place) already showed in the qualification for the individual competition on Sunday that they are a force to be reckoned with at the weekend. They then competed together in the super team competition on Saturday.
Saturday - Super Team Jumping
The format provided for two jumpers from each nation to compete. There were three rounds in total.
The Slovenians Anže Lanišek and Lovro Kos (753.3 points) secured victory with a clear lead over the two Austrians Manuel Fettner and Jan Hörl (711.0 points) and the two DSV eagles Stephan Leyhe and Andreas Wellinger (709.0 points). Wellinger even set a new hill record in the second round with a remarkable jump of 144.5 meters.
Sunday - Individual jumping
The runner-up of the 72nd Four Hills Tournament also impressed in the individual competition on Sunday: With 262.4 points, Wellinger finished in third place behind Austria's Stefan Kraft (264.3 points) and Japan's Ryōyū Kobayashi (269.4 points).
Karl Geiger (tenth place) and Stephan Leyhe (twelfth place) also made it into the top 15.
The DSV eagles can hope for more medals at the second stop of the PolSKI Tour. An individual competition will take place in Szczyrk on Wednesday.
